Fire Near Tanah Abang Station Extinguished, Commuter Line Services Resume
KAI Commuter announced via its official X account on Friday (5/6/2026) that the fire in a residential area near the railway line between Tanah Abang and Duri stations had been fully extinguished. Commuter Line services at the site have now resumed. KCI stated that the fire near the tracks had temporarily caused KRL journeys on the Cikarang-Kampung Bandan route and its return service to be held until conditions were declared safe. Although the firefighting operation is complete and the line is passable again, the process of clearing train traffic congestion is still ongoing. KCI apologised for the delays experienced by passengers. “We sincerely apologise for the travel delays, as we are currently still in the process of clearing congestion along the line,” the operator said. Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Operations Section Head Triyanto also confirmed the firefighting process in the residential area had concluded. “It is finished,” he stated.
