Fire Near Tanah Abang Railway Line Leaves One Dead and Five Injured
One person has been confirmed dead and five others have sustained minor burns following a fire near the Tanah Abang railway line, according to Triyanto, Head of Operations for the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, in a written statement on Friday (5/6/2026). The five individuals with minor burns have been transported to Tarakan Hospital. The fire has affected 10 households, impacting a total of 35 people.
The cause of the fire and the total area affected are currently under investigation. The incident was initially reported at approximately 04:48 WIB, prompting the immediate deployment of two fire engines. The firefighting operation has since concluded, with a total of 22 fire engines and 88 personnel deployed to the scene.
