Fire brigade personnel successfully extinguished a rekindled fire at the scene of the previous blaze on Jalan Krendang Barat, Tambora, West Jakarta (Jakbar). Officers remain on-site to cool down the area.

“The fire has been extinguished,” said Syaiful Kahfi, Head of Operations for West Jakarta Sub-District Disaster Management Unit (Gulkarmat), when contacted on Friday, 29 May 2026 at 21:54 WIB.

Kahfi stated the fire originated from the same location as the incident on Thursday (28 May) evening. There were no casualties.

“Same location, third floor. No casualties,” he added.

Eight fire trucks were deployed to extinguish the rekindled fire.

The previous fire was reported at 19:47 WIB on Thursday evening and was extinguished around 23:32 WIB after 21 fire trucks were deployed.

A total of 27 houses were destroyed across four RTs (neighbourhood units) in RW 5 (village cluster). RT 10 lost five homes, RT 11 four, RT 12 ten, and RT 13 eight.

Kahfi said 115 households were affected by the fire, with the cause still under investigation.

“115 households and 250 people,” he stated.
