Fire in Tambora Destroys 27 Homes, 115 Households Affected
A fire struck a densely populated residential area on Krendang Barat Street in Tambora, West Jakarta, last night, destroying 27 homes. ‘27 homes affected,’ said Syaiful Kahfi, Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Fire Department Sub-Division, to reporters on Friday, 29 June 2026. The affected homes were spread across four RTs in RW 5, with five in RT 10, four in RT 11, ten in RT 12, and eight in RT 13. Kahfi stated 115 households were affected, with the cause still under investigation. ‘The number of households and individuals affected was 115 and 250,’ he added. The fire was reported at 7:47pm WIB on Thursday, 28 May, and was extinguished around 11:32pm after 21 fire trucks were deployed.
