Fire guts Kupang market

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: At least 100 kiosks at the Oebobo market were destroyed by fire on Wednesday, Antara said.

Financial losses are still being assessed.

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire, which many people believe began with an electrical short circuit.

Witnesses told Antara that the first sign of fire was on one of the market's electricity poles.

Fire fighters managed to contain the blaze from spreading to outer kiosks.

The agency did not say whether there were any casualties. (10)
