A fire has erupted along the Jalur Lingkar Kaldera Tengger (JLKT) route in the Mount Bromo area, Probolinggo Regency. Joint teams were immediately deployed to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the Seruni Point tourist area.

Probolinggo Police, together with a joint team, conducted firefighting operations using a forest and land fire truck belonging to the East Java Police’s Samapta unit. In addition to extinguishing the flames, officers are monitoring the area to anticipate the emergence of new hotspots.

Probolinggo Police Chief AKBP Asmida Rizki Siregar, through Deputy Chief Kompol Yanuar Rizal Ardhianto, confirmed that the team moved swiftly to put out the fire at the JLKT site. “We, together with the joint team, immediately moved to extinguish the fire at the JLKT area using a forest fire truck from the East Java Police’s Samapta unit,” Kompol Rizal stated. He added that this action was taken to prevent the fire from spreading, particularly towards the Seruni Point area.

Meanwhile, the Seruni Point tourist destination has been temporarily closed due to the emergence of several hotspots in the Probolinggo Regency area. The Head of the Probolinggo Regency Tourism Office, Heri Mulyadi, confirmed the temporary closure of Seruni Point because the fire is still burning and spreading. The closure was implemented due to concerns that the fire is moving closer to the Seruni Point peak area. “That is correct. In order to maintain the security, safety, and comfort of visitors or tourists, we have reluctantly closed the tourist attraction leading to Seruni Point Peak temporarily,” Heri said.
