Fire Engulfs Rental House in Kalideres, West Jakarta

A fire swept through a rental house on Jalan Gaga Utama, RT 10/RW 9, Semanan, Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Friday afternoon. Head of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat), Syaiful Kahfi, stated that the initial report was received from a resident named Zaki, who alerted the local fire station. “It was a fire at a rental house; the cause has not yet been identified,” Syaiful said when contacted in Jakarta on Friday. The West Jakarta Sudin Gulkarmat deployed four fire engines with a team of 20 personnel to tackle the blaze. “The extinguishing operation commenced at approximately 10.52 a.m. Western Indonesian Time and was completed at 12.28 p.m.,” Syaiful noted. He added that the spread of the fire was successfully prevented following the firefighters’ intervention. Furthermore, it was reported that there were no casualties resulting from the incident. “There were zero injuries or fatalities,” Syaiful concluded.
