Fire Engulfs Project Logistics Barracks Near PIK Hospital, Thick Smoke Billows

A fire engulfed a project logistics barracks on Jalan Pantai Indah Utara 3, near PIK Hospital, North Jakarta. Thick smoke billowed high into the sky. The command centre of the North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service received a report of the fire at 2.00 pm local time. Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the location. Firefighting operations began at 2.12 pm local time. A total of seven fire engines were deployed, manned by 42 firefighters. As of 2.27 pm local time, personnel were still working to extinguish the blaze. The situation was being contained and was in the process of being extinguished by officers.
