Fire Engulfs Ciptamulya Traditional Village in Sukabumi, Flames Still Raging
A massive fire has devastated the Kasepuhan Ciptamulya traditional village in Sirnaresmi Village, Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency. The blaze, which broke out on Saturday (25/7), continues to rage and has consumed numerous homes in the indigenous community. Amateur video footage shows red-orange flames rapidly engulfing the traditional wooden stilt houses, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky above the hilly terrain. Panicked residents can be heard shouting warnings about nearby electrical installations as they fled along concrete paths to save themselves and their belongings. A man wearing a hat was seen standing in a wooden gazebo, watching helplessly as the fire tore through roofs and caused structures to collapse. Local resident Dede reported that the fire is still not under control. βThe fire is still burning and spreading,β he said. Cisolok Sub-district Head Okih Assidiq confirmed the incident, stating that firefighting teams and joint personnel have been deployed to the scene. The exact cause of the fire, the number of homes destroyed, and any casualties remain unconfirmed as authorities continue their assessment and containment efforts.
