Fire Devours Trans Home Sleman; Firefighters Struggle to Extinguish Flames
A fire struck the Trans Home supermarket, which stocks building materials, furniture, and electronic goods, in Berbah, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, on Thursday (1/10/2026). The fire was reported to have started from the rear of the shop at approximately 13:00 WIB, forcing firefighters to struggle to control the spreading flames.
Firefighting personnel sprayed water towards the flames engulfing the Trans Home building, which sells construction materials, furniture, and electronics, in Berbah, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, on Thursday (1/10/202lag). The fire was seen growing from within the building, producing thick plumes of smoke around the site.
Numerous officers from a joint team attempted to reach the fire’s origin within the Trans Home area. The blaze, which occurred around 13:00 WIB, was handled by the Sleman Regency Fire Department alongside the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the police.
Officers continued spraying water to ensure the flames at Trans Home could be controlled and prevented from spreading to surrounding buildings. The extinguishing process was carried out in stages, directing hoses towards several areas that were still emitting smoke.
The firefighting operation involved a joint team from the Sleman Regency Fire Department, BPBD, and the police. Officers worked to localise the fire to prevent it from spreading to other parts of the building or the surrounding neighbourhood.
