A factory building used for packaging cooking oil, owned by PT Budi Nabati Perkasa in Talang Duku Village, Taman Rajo District, Muaro Jambi Regency, was razed by a massive fire in the early hours of Saturday (6/6).

There were no fatalities reported. However, it is estimated that the losses include several company operational vehicles located near the site, which were also caught in the flames.

The Muaro Jambi Police Chief, through Head of Public Relations AKP Saaludin, stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. He noted that due to the rapid and large spread of the flames, company internal staff using portable fire extinguishers struggled to contain the blaze.

Fortunately, amidst the panic of employees who were successfully evacuated from the warehouse, assistance arrived from the fire brigade teams and fleets of the Muaro Jambi Regency Fire Department.

Based on data gathered by the police, the burnt assets include cooking oil packaging machinery units, one Grandmax pickup truck, two PS-type light trucks, and one Lohan tanker truck.

β€œThe investigation is ongoing. The exact value of the losses is not yet known,” said Saaludin.
