Fire Devastates Sibolga Nauli Market

A massive fire struck Pasar Sibolga Nauli on Jalan Patuan Anggi, Sibolga City, North Sumatra, on Saturday (11/7) evening at around 9.24 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. The flames rapidly intensified, engulfing and destroying a number of kiosks in the market area. Dozens of personnel from the Sibolga City Fire Department, assisted by teams from Central Tapanuli Fire Department, LHKP Sibolga City, and PT Mujur Timber, battled the blaze for nearly eight hours. The fire was finally extinguished on Sunday (12/7) at 5.07 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. The cause of the fire, the number of kiosks affected, and the total value of losses are still being recorded and investigated by the authorities. Sibolga Mayor Akhmad Syukri Nazry Penarik, who inspected the location, stated that the government was prioritising the firefighting process before taking further steps.
