Fire destroys house, kills two children

JAKARTA (JP): Two children were killed when fire destroyed
their parent's house on Jl. Enim, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta,
early on Friday morning.

Tasritin 8, and his brother Saturoh 15, were sleeping when
fire engulfed the building after midnight. The parents were not
in the house when the incident took place.

The fire was extinguished within an hour by seven fire engine
units.

People realized that Tastitin and Saturoh had been trapped in
the fire after finding their chared remains among the debris.

Police have alleged that the incident was caused by an
electric short circuit.

The bodies were sent to the Cipto Mangunkusmo hospital morgue.

"They arrived here at 3:30 a.m.," Edi Pratiknyo, a morgue
attendant told The Jakarta Post.

He also added that the victim's uncle came to claim the bodies
at about 2:45 p.m.

Fire also damaged the Victory Offset Prima printing company
building on Jl. Pegangsaan Dua, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, at

destroyed by fire.

There were no casualties reported in the two incidents.

An officer of the North Jakarta fire brigade said that his
office could handle two or three fire incidents a day.

"But sometimes, we receive no report of fire at all," he said.

Meanwhile on Thursday night, the house of a soybean cake maker
on Jl. Margi Utami, Bantar Gebang, Bekasi, was destroyed by fire.

The fire which occurred at about 9 p.m. on Thursday, was
