Fire destroys five houses

JAKARTA (JP): Fire engulfed five houses in a slum area on Jl.
Pegangsaan II, North Jakarta, on Saturday afternoon.

No casualties were reported, but estimated material losses
were Rp 15 million (US$1,875).

A firefighter from the North Jakarta fire department said the
fire was believed to have been caused by an electrical short
circuit in one of the houses.

Firefighters from North and East Jakarta needed about half an
hour to put out the blaze, Antara reported. (ivy)
