Fire destroys a hotel

CIREBON, West Java : A hotel and a machinery store were burned down Tuesday night, causing material losses of around Rp 1 billion (US$445,000), Antara reported yesterday.

There were no casualties in the fire.

Because of the wind, the fire, which started at the Guna Jaya Teknik store, quickly spread to the Sentosa Hotel next door, witnesses said.

Three firetrucks deployed to put out the blaze could not get to the back of the storehouse because of a lack of access. (05)
