Fire damages hundreds of kiosks

BANDUNG, West Java: Fire damaged 280 kiosks at the Sayati
Indah Market yesterday morning, causing a loss of at least Rp 2.5
billion (approximately US$1.09 million)

A heavy downpour later in the day helped the fire department
put out the fire. No casualties were reported but police arrested
five people suspected of looting during the fire.

An official of the local administration, Mamat Rachmat, said
the traders would be relocated to another marketplace. (31)
