A total of 14 firefighting units were deployed to tackle a fire that struck the Pullman Hotel in the Tanjung Duren area, West Jakarta, on Saturday (1/8) morning. Syaiful Kahfi from the West Jakarta Fire, Rescue, and Disaster Management Agency (Gulkarmat), confirmed that authorities moved swiftly to the location after receiving a report at 07:59 WIB. “Officers were dispatched just one minute after the report was received,” Syaiful stated, as reported by Antara. A total of 14 fire engines and 70 personnel were deployed to the site to extinguish the flames. The firefighting operation, which began intensively at 08:05 WIB, successfully localised the fire, preventing it from spreading further. “The situation at the fire site is currently under control, and officers have been conducting a cooling process since 08:15 WIB to ensure there are no remaining hotspots that could trigger a secondary fire,” said Syaiful. As of the time of reporting, the handling status at the Pullman Hotel area is categorised as yellow, with personnel remaining on-site to complete the extinguishing process.
