Fire Breaks Out at Ministry of Home Affairs Building in South Jakarta

A fire broke out at the Directorate General of Village Governance building of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Monday (20/4) at approximately 1:38 PM WIB. “Location: Directorate General of Village Governance,” as quoted from the Fire Department Command Centre data. A total of 18 fire trucks and 75 personnel were deployed to the site to extinguish the blaze. The extinguishing process began at 1:47 PM WIB. As of now, the fire extinguishing efforts are still ongoing by the officers. “Fire situation/status: extinguishing in progress (red),” as stated in the data. Information about the fire also circulated on social media. One of them was posted by the Instagram account @jakselupdate_. In the uploaded video, flames can be seen raging inside the building. Several civil servants were also seen evacuating.
