Fire at West Jakarta Police Station Not in Main Building

Police have stated that the fire at the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters did not occur in the main building, with only one room affected. “What burned was one room on the second floor. Not the main building, just one room on the second floor,” said Head of Public Relations for the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKP Wisnu, when contacted on Wednesday (8/4). Nevertheless, Wisnu has not disclosed which room was impacted in the fire incident. He only mentioned that so far, no important documents were burned. “(Important documents) No, it’s still under investigation. That’s not the main building,” he said. Furthermore, Wisnu stated that the Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police is currently investigating the cause of the fire that occurred this morning. “The cause is still under investigation, handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police,” he said. Previously, a fire occurred at the headquarters of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Jalan Daan Mogor on Wednesday (8/4) morning around 08:07 WIB. The fire burning the building was not too large. A total of 65 personnel and 13 fire engine units were deployed to the location to extinguish the blaze.
