Fire at Tangerang Nugget and Sausage Factory Extinguished After 24 Hours

TANGERANG - The fire at PT Adik Mart/CCK’s nugget and sausage factory in Telaga Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency, was finally extinguished after nearly 24 hours early on Friday (29 May 2026).

Tangerang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Chief Achmad Taufik said the firefighting process concluded around 3am WIB. Although the flames were out, personnel remained on standby at the site to prevent potential re-ignition.

“The firefighting was completed at 3am (03.00 WIB), and a standby post is currently at the site in case of re-ignition,” Taufik told Kompas.com on Friday.

He explained that the accumulation of materials within the factory area caused the fire to spread quickly and hindered firefighting efforts.

“Due to the large affected area and the piled-up combustible materials, the team faced difficulties in extinguishing the fire,” he added.

The fire was first reported by locals at approximately 3:01am WIB via Tangerang Regency’s Call Center 112 on Thursday (28 May 2026).

To tackle the blaze, BPBD deployed at least seven fire trucks from various locations, including Pasar Kemis, Tigaraksa, Curug, Balaraja, Rajeg, and Kelapa Dua stations. Firefighters worked for hours to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding areas.

The preliminary investigation suggests the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

“Initial suspicion points to an electrical short circuit,” Taufik said.

As of Friday morning, authorities continued monitoring the factory site to ensure no residual embers reignited the fire.
