Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has assured that public services will continue normally following a fire that struck Building D of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Directorate General for Village Governance Development, and the Directorate General for Population and Civil Registration, in Pasar Minggu.

“Services will proceed as usual tomorrow, no issues,” said the Secretary of the Directorate General for Village Governance Development at Kemendagri, Murtono, when met at the fire scene in Jakarta on Monday.

Murtono stated that on Tuesday (21/4), employees, including civil servants (ASN), will work as normal. They will operate from other buildings, ensuring that public services remain operational.

“ASN will adapt; it’s impossible to return to work in that building,” he said.

Separately, the Director General for Population and Civil Registration at Kemendagri, Teguh Setyabudi, praised the swift response of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-Department.

“We thank and appreciate the Fire Department’s performance; the officers were outstanding, and the fire is now starting to be extinguished,” said Teguh.

The fire at Building D is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs complex, which consists of five buildings, A through E.

To date, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
