A fire struck the Djakarta Theater building on Jalan MH Thamrin, Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday evening. The fire originated from the cinema kitchen within the building.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Marulitua Sijabat, stated that the fire was suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. "The suspicion is that it was due to an electrical short circuit. The affected object was the XXI kitchen in the Djakarta Theater Building," Marulitua said when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday evening.

He said there were no injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident. Firefighters moved quickly to tackle the blaze, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, preventing the fire from spreading to other rooms in the building. "There were zero casualties, and the extinguishing operation has been completed," he stated.

According to information from the DKI Jakarta Command Center, the firefighting operation was completed at 9:50 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, involving one unit with a crew of four personnel. Despite the absence of casualties, the estimated material loss from the incident is Rp 20 million.
