Fire at Ciputra Cibubur Mall, Two Fire Engines Deployed
A fire struck Ciputra Cibubur Mall in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday (17 February) afternoon. Two fire engines were deployed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
“There was a fire, but the flames have been put out,” said Rusmanto, Company Commander A of the Bekasi City Fire and Rescue Service (Disdamkarmat), when contacted for confirmation.
“Two units were deployed to the location,” he added.
However, Rusmanto did not elaborate on the chronology of the fire, including the suspected cause.
Information about the fire also circulated on social media, including a post by the Instagram account @kabarcibubur24jam.
In the uploaded video, flames could be seen burning at the front section of the mall building. Thick black smoke was also visible at the scene.
“A fire has occurred at Ciputra Cibubur Mall. The incident took place on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, at approximately 13:40 Western Indonesian Time. The cause of the fire is not yet known; the extinguishing process is currently underway,” read the caption accompanying the post.
