Fire at Cimuning SPBE Still Under Investigation, Police Involve Forensics Lab

A severe fire broke out at the SPBE of PT Indogas Andalan Kita on Jalan Raya Cinyosok, Cimuning Ward, Mustikajaya District, Bekasi City, and remains under police investigation. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, around 21:15 WIB, was accompanied by explosions and bursts of flame, spreading to surrounding residential areas. The Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Budi Hermanto, stated that the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed and is still being examined by investigators. “The cause of the fire accompanied by explosions and bursts of flame is currently under investigation by Polres Metro Bekasi, involving the forensics laboratory to identify the cause of the incident,” he said. As a result of the incident, 13 people were reported to have suffered burns and have been evacuated to several hospitals for medical treatment. In addition to the injured victims, the fire also impacted buildings in the surrounding area. Several houses, rented rooms, shops, stalls, and scrap warehouses were reported to have sustained damage, ranging from moderate to severe. The police assured that the investigation process will continue thoroughly, including examination of the scene and collection of evidence to uncover the exact cause of the fire. PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Barat (JBB) has confirmed that it will take full responsibility for the impacts of the explosion and fire at the Cimuning SPBE area in Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City.
