Fire at Bojong Canar Landfill in Pandeglang Finally Extinguished After Two Days
A fire broke out at the Bojong Canar Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Cikedal District, Pandeglang Regency. The flames were finally extinguished after a two-day firefighting process.
“Alhamdulillah, it was extinguished yesterday; hopefully, it remains safe moving forward,” said the Secretary of the Pandeglang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Nana Mulyana, when asked for confirmation on Thursday (3/9/2026).
Nana stated that the fire brigade was assisted by BPBD Banten, Perumdam Tirta Berkah Pandeglang, and the Pandeglang Environmental Office. He noted that the extinguishing efforts also involved the deployment of heavy machinery.
“Based on the findings of the field team, heavy machinery from the Environmental Office was required because embers were located deep within the waste. We were also assisted by fire units from BPBD Banten,” he added.
Previously, the Bojong Canar landfill in Cikedal District, Pandeglang, caught fire on Monday (31/8) at approximately 16:00 WIB. The fire continued to burn until Wednesday (2/9).
