Fire at Binus University Anggrek Campus Kemanggisan, West Jakarta, Fire Department Deploys Five Fire Engines

An incident of a fire occurred at the Anggrek Campus of Bina Nusantara University in Kemanggisan, Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Friday morning (22 May 2026). The blaze was reported at around 05:30 WIB. Shortly after the report was received, the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) headed to the scene and arrived at about 05:40 WIB. ‘The fire is still being brought under control with thick smoke,’ said Syaiful Kahfi, Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Office, by telephone on Friday. ‘My team and I are at the scene handling the situation,’ he added. In video received by Kompas.com, thick smoke was seen rising from inside the campus area. Several fire engines were parked on the campus and along Jalan Rawa Belong, Palmerah. Firefighters continued to extinguish the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the campus building.
