Fire and Explosion Reported at Kalideres Waste Disposal Site

A fire accompanied by an explosion occurred at a waste disposal site on Jalan Perumahan Permata Taman Palem Blk. D No.1115, RT.15/RW.13 Pegadungan, Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Monday evening. Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-department, Syaiful Kahfi, stated that the department received the report at 19:10 WIB. “It was a rubbish fire, and it has been handled by officers,” said Syaiful. After officers arrived at the location, firefighting operations were carried out and lasted nearly an hour. The department deployed four units with a strength of 20 personnel to extinguish the fire. “The handling is complete. The operation finished at 20:11 WIB,” Syaiful said. No fatalities or injuries were reported in the incident. Regarding the sound of an explosion, as heard in a viral video on the Instagram account @warga.jakbar, Syaiful admitted he was not yet aware of the matter. “We haven’t monitored that yet. The main point is that the firefighting has been successfully carried out,” Syaiful concluded.
