Finnish envoy to Kalimantan
JAKARTA: Finland's Ambassador Veli J. Ollikainen will be visiting West Kalimantan next week, taking along with him some Finnish business executives.
A statement by the Finland's embassy said that the ambassador, accompanied by Commercial Counselor Markku Ranin, will call on West Kalimantan Governor Aspar Awin and visit a number of Finnish-funded projects and joint ventures.
The Finnish business activities in the province have focused mainly on forestry and forest industry and energy. Finland's most recent joint ventures in the area include the replanting project of the Finnish paper giant Enso Gutzeit, Gudang Garam and Inhutani III which will provide raw material for a very large pulp mill planned to be built later.
