Rosmani Sitohang, a shallot trader at the Kramat Jati Wholesale Market in East Jakarta, claims that his business profits have increased fourfold after securing financing from Bank Jakarta. The funding, amounting to IDR 108 million, has been utilised to strengthen the working capital of his business, which has been operating since 2015.

Rosmani stated that the market trader financing programme has significantly helped increase his business capacity. “This market trader financing programme is very helpful for expanding my business. Profits can now reach up to four times the previous amount,” Rosmani said during the Mass Contract Signing event for the Kramat Jati Wholesale Market Trader Financing Programme on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

He expressed hope that the programme would continue and reach more market traders, noting that access to capital is a vital necessity for traders to maintain and grow their enterprises. “The benefits of such a programme are deeply felt by traders. I hope it can continue,” added Rosmani.

Another trader, Ika Tiara, has also received capital financing facilities from Bank Jakarta on several occasions. In a previous stage, she received financing of IDR 500 million, while her most recent disbursement reached IDR 400 million.

Ika explained that the funds were used to pay for business premises rental costs for the next 20 years. According to her, certainty regarding trading space is a crucial factor for business sustainability. “The benefits are immense for traders looking to expand their businesses,” said Ika.

The Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno, noted that capital support can enhance the capacity of MSME players at the Kramat Jati Wholesale Market. He praised the collaboration between Bank Jakarta and Perumda Pasar Jaya in supporting MSMEs and the grassroots economy.

However, Rano reminded that access to formal financing must be accompanied by financial literacy. This ensures that MSME operators can implement healthy financial management to ensure continuous business growth. “There will certainly be dialogues between the bank and the traders to assist with management so that businesses can further develop. Hopefully, we can expand this programme to other markets,” he said.

A total of 100 traders at the Kramat Jati Wholesale Market in East Jakarta participated in the mass credit signing with Bank Jakarta on Tuesday morning. The financing is provided through both the People’s Business Credit (KUR) and non-KUR programmes, with credit ceilings of up to IDR 500 million.
