Financial pressure faced by Indonesians is seen to be increasing. Findings from the Manulife Asia Care Survey 2026 show that although 65% of respondents define financial freedom as not being a burden to others, 68% still provide financial support to family members. On average, respondents allocate 38% of their monthly income to family needs.

As a result, 69% of respondents stated that these responsibilities affect their ability to achieve long-term financial independence. This challenge is particularly felt by the working-age group, especially those aged 25–34, who must balance current family needs with their future financial goals.

Amid these financial needs, PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia (Manulife Indonesia) together with PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) introduced Proteksi Prima Fleksi Ekstra (PPFE). This financial product is considered a solution for life protection and medium-term financial planning that provides certainty of benefits as well as flexibility to access benefits earlier in accordance with policy terms.

Customers are considered able to prepare their financial goals more flexibly with benefit options that can be accessed earlier if needs change along the way, in accordance with policy terms.

“Many people are at a stage of life where they bear significant responsibilities, both for their families and their parents. They need to balance current family needs with long-term financial planning. Through PPFE, we aim to help customers build better financial readiness through guaranteed benefits in accordance with policy terms and conditions, as well as flexibility that can adapt to ever-changing needs,” said Kah Jing Lee, Chief Bancassurance Officer of PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia.

As a response to these evolving needs, Manulife Indonesia and Danamon present PPFE, a solution designed to help customers obtain protection while planning medium-term financial goals. It carries the “Ekstra SIAP” concept offering a Comprehensive Solution, with Inclusive Protection, application without medical examination, Earlier Access to Policy Benefits, and Currency Options in IDR or USD.

This product is available for prospective insured persons aged 18 to 80 years, with flexible premium payment period options, namely five years for a 15-year protection period or six years for an 18-year protection period, and a minimum annual premium of Rp24 million or 2,400 US dollars.

This flexibility is further strengthened by the Early Policy Termination Benefit available in certain policy years, so that if the customer’s financial needs change, the customer has the option to access policy benefits earlier in accordance with policy terms and conditions. This benefit can help support various financial goals, such as financing children’s education, preparing for important family moments, or meeting other medium-term financial needs without having to wait until the protection period ends. In addition, PPFE also provides accidental death benefit, which provides more optimal financial protection if the insured dies due to an accident, in accordance with policy terms and conditions.

Ivan Jaya, Consumer Funding & Wealth Business Head of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, emphasised that financial readiness needs to be supported by early planning as well as relevant, integrated, and easily accessible financial solutions for customers.

“Good financial planning not only aims to achieve future targets, but also provides peace of mind in facing various changes that may occur throughout life’s journey. Through PPFE, Manulife Indonesia together with Danamon present a solution that combines protection and flexibility, so that customers can prepare their various financial goals in a more planned manner without losing the ability to adapt to other evolving financial needs,” said Ivan Jaya, Consumer Funding & Wealth Business Head, Danamon.

Since its introduction, PPFE has received a positive response from Danamon customers. In the first few weeks after its launch, the product recorded sales of hundreds of policies, reflecting high customer interest in solutions that combine life protection and financial planning.

Through this collaboration, Manulife Indonesia and Danamon continue to expand public access to protection and financial planning solutions that are relevant to customers’ evolving needs.
