Jakarta (ANTARA) - Financial consultant and planner Elvi Diana views the new line-up of OJK Board of Commissioners members as a breath of fresh air for the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Her attention is particularly focused on Deputy Finance Minister Juda Agung and Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Thomas Djiwandono, who are now entrusted as OJK commissioners ex-officio. In a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday, Elvi said that the backgrounds and experiences of Juda Agung and Thomas Djiwandono serve as important capital in strengthening OJK’s functions and role going forward. “OJK needs figures with a deep understanding of the financial system, both from fiscal and monetary perspectives. With the experience possessed by Juda Agung and Thomas Djiwandono, I hope OJK’s performance can become even more optimal,” Elvi stated. Therefore, she considers it important for all commissioners, including those from ex-officio elements, to uphold professionalism and integrity in carrying out their duties. “Reviewing their backgrounds, I hope both can drive improvements in the quality of supervision and stability of the financial services sector. This is certainly a shared hope for industry players and the public,” she added. Elvi also emphasised that synergy between OJK, the Ministry of Finance, and Bank Indonesia must continue to be strengthened to face various economic challenges, both at the national and global levels.
