Financial Literacy and Inclusion Indices Rise Nationally in 2026
The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), released the latest data from the 2026 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK). The level of national financial literacy and inclusion showed a relative increase compared to the previous year’s release.
“The national financial literacy index stands at 69.57 percent in the 2026 SNLIK, an increase of 2.93 percentage points compared to the 2025 SNLIK figure of 66.64 percent,” said Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Head of BPS.
The increase in the national financial literacy level was supported by the conventional financial literacy level. Meanwhile, the 2026 SNLIK results showed that the sharia financial literacy level reached 43.07 percent, a correction of 0.35 percentage points compared to the 2025 SNLIK figure of 43.42 percent.
DKI Jakarta recorded the highest financial literacy index at 84.01 percent, followed by South Kalimantan Province at 79.69 percent and Bali with a financial literacy index of 78.77 percent.
“Furthermore, the national financial inclusion index in 2026 increased from 92.74 percent to 93.61 percent, or up 0.87 percentage points,” she continued.
