Financial Investment Tips for the Year of the Fire Horse 2026
Entering the Year of the Fire Horse 2026, investors are being reminded neither to remain passive nor to engage in directionless speculation.
Senior Economist at Allianz Global Investors, Christiaan Tuntono, stated that the Asian economy, including Indonesia, is set to improve, as evidenced by easing financial market turbulence.
“We are entering a phase of opportunity as interest rate pressures ease, although market volatility has not entirely dissipated,” he said in a press statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/2/2026).
Meanwhile, Co-Founder of Feng Shui Consulting Indonesia, Angelina Fang, described the Year of the Fire Horse as a period of great energy demanding swift decisions, focus, and discipline.
“2026 is a year to step forward with confidence, yet maintain control. Combine modern economic strategy with Feng Shui insights to make intelligent and balanced investment decisions,” she explained.
Merging macroeconomic perspectives with Feng Shui outlook, the following investment tips are considered relevant for 2026:
- Choose Fundamentally Strong Assets
Economic growth in Asia in 2026 is expected to be selective. Not all sectors will rise simultaneously. Investors are advised to select instruments or businesses with strong fundamentals, clear cash flows, and comprehensible business models. The technology and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors are cited as continuing to be key growth drivers, not only in the United States but also across various innovation hubs in Asia and Europe.
- Take Advantage of Interest Rate Momentum Gradually
According to Christiaan, the real interest rate in Indonesia is beginning to move in a less restrictive direction. This opens up investment opportunities in both financial markets and the real sector. However, investors are urged not to rush. Recommended strategies include entering the market gradually, diversifying portfolios, and maintaining liquidity to capitalise on opportunities during market corrections. Timing is described as a crucial factor in 2026.
- Asia and Indonesia Remain Attractive in the Medium Term
Allianz Global Investors’ outlook considers Asia’s growth fundamentals to remain strong despite the shadow of global trade policy pressures. Emerging markets such as India, ASEAN, and China are seen as having a large consumption base, underpinned by continuing urbanisation and digitalisation.
For Indonesia, a number of institutions including MSCI and Moody’s have highlighted policy risks and governance issues affecting market sentiment. Nevertheless, domestic economic growth is projected to remain moderate, supported by domestic consumption, a relatively favourable demographic structure, and comparatively low fiscal deficits and debt ratios.
From a Feng Shui perspective, this condition is likened to “ground strong enough to withstand fire”, meaning opportunities remain open so long as measures taken are not excessive.
- Avoid Emotional Decisions and FOMO
Angelina emphasised that the energy of the Year of the Fire Horse has the potential to trigger excessive optimism and ego-driven decision-making. Investors are urged to avoid decisions based on emotion or simply following trends (fear of missing out/FOMO). She recommended that investors thoroughly understand risks, set profit targets and loss limits from the outset, and maintain discipline in executing their strategies.
- Business Operators Should Focus on Execution
For business operators, investment in 2026 does not always take the form of financial products. This year is considered opportune for strengthening business foundations through improved operational efficiency, digitalisation of work processes, and reinforcement of teams and leadership. From both economic and Feng Shui standpoints, 2026 is described as a year demanding consistency and tangible results, not merely grand plans without follow-through.
- Balance Boldness with Protection
The Year of the Fire Horse is synonymous with boldness, yet still requires balance. In the investment context, this principle translates into a diversified portfolio, basic protections such as insurance and emergency funds, and the discipline of periodic rebalancing.
“2026 is a year to step forward with confidence, yet maintain control,” was the conclusion conveyed at the event.
Investors are encouraged to combine modern economic strategy with Feng Shui insights to make intelligent and balanced decisions.
