The Ministry of Finance has responded to reports concerning an underpayment of Rp 50 million in the Annual Income Tax Return (SPT Tahunan PPh) of Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. The institution emphasised that the 2025 tax year annual return was filed on time in line with applicable rules.

Head of the Bureau of Communication and Information Services at the Ministry of Finance, Deni Surjantoro, explained that in the tax system, underpayments can occur, particularly for taxpayers with income from more than one source.

β€œAll such income is combined in the tax calculation, while withholdings by each employer are done separately,” Deni stated in an official release on Friday, 27 March 2026.

He explained that this situation can lead to differences between the tax already withheld and the tax liability, including due to the application of progressive rates. To support ease and accuracy in reporting, the Coretax system has integrated tax data automatically (prepopulated), including withholding evidence, thereby assisting taxpayers in completing their annual returns correctly, completely, and clearly in accordance with provisions.

The Ministry of Finance, he added, encourages all taxpayers to continue fulfilling their tax obligations in an orderly and timely manner. For more complete information on this matter, please check the following upload: s.kemenkeu.go.id/SPTKurangBayarMenkeu.
