Finance Ministry Dismisses Directors General of Budget and Economic Strategy

Two Directors General (Dirjen) at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) have been dismissed. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the two officials will later be found suitable positions. According to detikFinance, the two echelon I officials removed from their posts are Dirjen Anggaran, Luky Alfirman, and Dirjen Strategi Ekonomi dan Fiskal, Febrio Nathan Kacaribu. The decision has been in effect since Tuesday (21/4). Operations of the two directorates general are temporarily led by Acting Heads (Plh). “(Dirjen Anggaran and Dirjen Strategi Ekonomi dan Fiskal replaced?) Yes, Plh have already been assigned. It has been active since yesterday afternoon,” Purbaya said when met at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/4/2026). Purbaya has not detailed the new positions to be occupied by the two senior Kemenkeu officials. He said he is still conducting an assessment to determine positions for Febrio and Luky. “Take a break first. Later, suitable places will be found for them,” he said. There is also a vacancy in the echelon I position at Kemenkeu for the Dirjen Stabilitas dan Pengembangan Sektor Keuangan, previously left by Masyita Crystallin. The best candidates are being selected to fill these three strategic positions. The selected candidates will later be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto for approval. The leadership transition process is targeted to be completed next month. “They will all be submitted to the president at once. Perhaps early May or mid-May,” Purbaya said.
