Finance Ministry and Supreme Court Open Recruitment for Tax Court Judges
The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Supreme Court, has announced the opening of the selection process for Tax Court judges. The announcement, published on the Supreme Court’s website on Sunday (5/7/2026), is detailed in letter number PENG-1/PHPP/2026 issued by the Ministry of Finance. The Central Recruitment Committee for Prospective Tax Court Judges for the 2026 Fiscal Year is inviting the best Indonesian citizens who wish to serve the country and meet the requirements to apply.
There are a number of general and specific requirements for applicants. General requirements include being an Indonesian citizen, being at least 45 years old by 31 December 2026, being devoted to God Almighty, and being loyal to Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. Applicants must not have been involved in activities that betray the nation or participated in banned organisations. They must possess expertise in taxation and hold a bachelor’s degree in law or another field, be authoritative, honest, fair, and of impeccable character, have never been convicted of a criminal offence, and be physically and mentally healthy.
Specific requirements stipulate that applicants must hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s (S-1) or Diploma IV (D-IV) degree and be no older than 60 years of age by 31 December 2026. Candidates are required to have at least 10 years of expertise and experience in taxation, or at least 5 years of experience as a Supreme Court judge assisting in handling tax disputes. They must also demonstrate orderly tax compliance by submitting their Annual Personal Income Tax Returns for the last three years and, where applicable, their State Officials’ Wealth Reports or Civil Servant Wealth Reports for the last three years. Additional requirements include high motivation, loyalty, competence, and integrity, the ability to work with information technology, and knowledge of law. For civil servant applicants, they must not be currently undergoing disciplinary punishment and must be recommended by their respective agencies.
