Finance Minister Suahasil Ready to Continue Coordination with KSSK
Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has stated that he is ready to continue coordination with the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) in determining the direction of fiscal and economic policy going forward.
“Coordination with the KSSK will certainly continue, as it is already stipulated by law,” Suahasil told journalists after the handover ceremony for the Finance Minister of the Republic of Indonesia at the Finance Ministry offices in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Suahasil said coordination with the KSSK provides a comprehensive perspective on Indonesia’s economic development, as the committee’s membership comprises several financial institutions with cross-cutting responsibilities, including the Finance Ministry, Bank Indonesia (BI), the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).
In addition, recent KSSK meetings have also involved the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara, which offers input from the perspective of business players managing large-scale investments and enterprises.
“The KSSK holds periodic meetings, and its technical team also meets regularly. At the latest KSSK meeting, Danantara was invited as well. The more parties involved in discussing the various aspects of Indonesia’s economic development, the better,” he said.
The handover of the finance ministerial post from Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to Suahasil Nazara was officially conducted at the Finance Ministry offices on Tuesday (15/9), one day after his inauguration ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (14/9).
Suahasil was sworn in as the new Finance Minister under Presidential Decree Number 97P of 2026 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Finance Minister of the Red-and-White Cabinet for the Remaining Term of 2024-2029, issued on 14 September 2026 by President Prabowo Subianto.
Suahasil is the third Finance Minister under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. His predecessor, Purbaya, was appointed on 8 September 2025 to replace Sri Mulyani.
Suahasil previously served as Deputy Finance Minister since the Indonesia Onward Cabinet under President Joko Widodo, continuing into the Red-and-White Cabinet under President Prabowo Subianto.
