Finance Minister Suahasil Guarantees Tax Restitution Rights Will Be Disbursed
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Suahahil Nazara has guaranteed that the right to tax overpayment refunds, or tax restitutions, for businesses that comply with regulations will be disbursed.
“If it is the right of the business actor, it will certainly be provided,” Suahasil stated during the APBN KiTa September 2026 press conference at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Friday.
She stated that the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has been conducting restitution payments in accordance with the applicable tax mechanisms and regulations.
Similarly, she emphasised that the Ministry of Finance encourages tax compliance from all business actors, including the proper use of restitutions as per existing rules.
Previously, the Director General of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto, stated that the refund of tax overpayments or restitution payments is carried out selectively and in a measurable manner.
According to Bimo, the tax restitutions for several companies are currently in the audit stage, a process that follows specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that must be adhered to.
“Audits also have standards and SOPs. Naturally, the DJP is not in a position to violate these SOPs,” he added.
