Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from asset recovery worth Rp1.02 trillion supports development financing.

Purbaya said the asset recovery carried out by the Attorney General’s Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) reflects law enforcement that is not solely oriented towards punishing perpetrators of criminal acts, but also ensures the recovery of state losses through optimising asset returns.

“Asset recovery is an important part of efforts to safeguard state finances. Every asset successfully returned becomes additional state revenue that can ultimately be utilised to support development financing and public services,” the Finance Minister said in Jakarta on Monday.

The PNBP received by the Ministry of Finance consists of Rp978.1 billion from the BPA Fair 2026 auction, Rp30.9 billion from tracing land and building assets, and Rp51.6 billion in cash from tracing assets belonging to convicted corruption case offender Edi Tansil.

In addition, auction proceeds of Rp19.1 billion were handed over to victims.

The state treasurer highlighted that the successful return of assets in the Edi Tansil corruption case, which has dragged on for decades, demonstrates that the state’s right to assets originating from criminal acts does not lapse over time.

“The Edi Tansil case reminds us that state losses must not become a past without resolution. Whoever harms the state, we will pursue them no matter how long it takes. Time may pass, but the state’s rights must not be lost,” he added.

He also stated his commitment to managing all state revenues, including those from asset recovery, in an orderly, transparent, and accountable manner in accordance with laws and regulations.

Good management is expected to further strengthen the state’s fiscal capacity in supporting national development and improving public welfare.

“Going forward, the Ministry of Finance will continue to strengthen synergy with the Attorney General’s Asset Recovery Agency and all stakeholders to optimise asset recovery and safeguard state finances,” Purbaya said.
