Finance Minister Reveals Prabowo's Directive: Maintain Credible State Budget and Measured Efficiency

Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has reported the completion of the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN), which has been approved by the House of Representatives (DPR RI), to President Prabowo Subianto. Suahasil stated that the process proceeded smoothly and that the DPR has provided concrete support.

“I am reporting the amount of state revenue that needs to be collected as well as the amount of expenditure. State revenue is over Rp3,40_trillion, while state expenditure is over Rp4,100 trillion,” said Suahasil following a meeting with Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (30/09/2026).

In addition to discussing the 2027 RAPBN, Suahasil reported on short-term economic conditions to Prabowo. According to her, the government must continue to maintain economic stability while strengthening the assistance required by the public in the current situation.

“Furthermore, in the short term, I informed the President and reported on the importance of maintaining economic conditions, including various reinforcements of assistance needed for the current situation. The Coordinating Minister will explain further,” she said.

During the meeting, Prabowo provided directives to ensure that the management of the State Budget (APBN) remains credible. Suahasil noted that Prabowo also requested the government to continue implementing measured budget efficiency.

“The President’s directive is to ensure the State Budget remains credible and to continue implementing measured efficiency so that the state budget can be utilised to its maximum potential for welfare, social protection, and infrastructure development,” she added.
