Finance Minister Purbaya's Hopes for Prosperity as Indonesia Marks Lunar New Year 2026
Jakarta — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa expressed his hopes during the 2026 Lunar New Year celebrations, wishing for Indonesia to become a prosperous and advanced nation.
In keeping with the spirit of Lunar New Year 2577 Kongzili, Purbaya wished for prosperity and success for all Indonesians.
“Happy Lunar New Year 2026, 2577 Kongzili. May the new year bring much fortune, prosperity, and success for us all,” Purbaya wrote via his official Instagram account @menkeuri on Tuesday (17/2/2026).
The State Treasurer also expressed hope that Indonesia would possess the strength and resilience needed to pursue its aspirations of becoming a nation with a prosperous society.
“May Indonesia be granted the strength and resilience to keep striving towards its goals of becoming an advanced, just, and prosperous nation this year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!” he wrote.
In his post, Purbaya displayed an image of a fire horse in a combination of red and white. He also included his full name, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and his title as Finance Minister of the Republic of Indonesia at the bottom.
Rosan Roeslani’s Hopes for Lunar New Year 2026
Investment and Downstreaming Minister and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani also shared his hopes for Lunar New Year 2026, inviting the public to work together towards shared prosperity.
He said diversity and unity are among Indonesia’s greatest strengths, a spirit reflected in the Lunar New Year 2577 Kongzili celebrations.
“Happy Lunar New Year. Indonesia is great because of its diversity, and strong because of its unity,” Rosan Roeslani wrote via his Instagram account @rosanroeslani on Tuesday (17/2/2026).
The Danantara Chief Executive Officer also urged the public to join hands with the aim of achieving shared welfare.
“Let us move forward together, maintain harmony, and build a more prosperous future for us all. Gong Xi Fa Cai,” he wrote.
Rosan also posted a short video featuring a photo of himself with his wife, Ayu Heni Rosan. The couple appeared coordinated in light blue mandarin-collared outfits.
AHY’s Hopes
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) expressed hope for positive trends in the lead-up to Lunar New Year 2026, particularly regarding the nation’s future development.
AHY made the remarks after attending the Lunar New Year 2026 eve celebrations in Batam, Riau Islands. On his first such visit, AHY was enthusiastically welcomed by thousands of Batam residents in the Nagoya area.
“The spirit of this evening also demonstrates that we can live in harmony, unity, and tolerance, even though Indonesia is a very large, very diverse, and very pluralistic nation,” AHY said at the Swissbelhotel Harbour Bay, Batam, Riau Islands, on Tuesday (17/2/2026).
