Finance Minister Purbaya Visits Yogyakarta Governor, Discusses Electric Rickshaw Programme

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa visited the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, at the Kepatihan Office Complex on Thursday (16/7/2026).

Purbaya arrived at the governor’s office and was warmly welcomed by Sultan HB X before they proceeded to a closed-door meeting. The meeting lasted nearly two hours.

Following the discussions, Purbaya commented on the lunch provided, expressing his enjoyment of the local cuisine. “The food was delicious. We had goat curry. It was really good,” he said with a smile.

Purbaya stated that he would accompany the Sultan to the inauguration of the Bekalista Ecosystem and the 2026 People’s Market at Alun-Alun Kidul Yogyakarta. The visit also includes the launch of an electric rickshaw programme in the city.
