Finance Minister Purbaya Visits Tanah Abang Market Ahead of Eid

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa visited Tanah Abang Market in Central Jakarta on Monday (9 March 2026) to monitor economic activity ahead of the Eid holiday.

According to CNBC Indonesia’s observations, Purbaya arrived at Block A around 13:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt and black trousers.

The Finance Minister’s visit was aimed at ensuring that the real economy continues to move forward, particularly through consumer spending and commercial activity at Tanah Abang Market ahead of Eid.

Tanah Abang Market is Indonesia’s largest wholesale clothing hub. The level of activity at the market serves as an important indicator of the nation’s overall economic health.
