Finance Minister Purbaya: TNI Briefing for LPDP Awardees to Foster Love for the Country

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa commented on the TNI briefing for LPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education) awardees during their pre-departure preparation (PK). According to Purbaya, the briefing is necessary to bolster nationalism and patriotism. “The main purpose is to strengthen their mindset, foster love for the country, and ensure they return here to contribute their knowledge,” Purbaya stated, as quoted from Antara on Monday (4/5/2026). He hopes that LPDP graduates can implement their knowledge, given Indonesia’s need to master high-level technologies. “We will change that because we must increase the use of technology going forward. If not, we will be left behind,” Purbaya said. “This is not the first time,” explained Lukmanul, as quoted from Kompas.com on Monday (4/5/2026). The briefing is one of the initial training programmes for awardees. “PK aims to equip scholarship recipients with character strengthening, national values, leadership, ethics, as well as mental and social readiness, so that awardees can undertake their studies optimally and responsibly as state scholarship recipients,” Lukmanul clarified. “The programme is attended by prospective and current LPDP scholarship recipients at the Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) levels, both for domestic and overseas studies, as part of the preparation before entering the study period,” explained the Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau), First Marshal TNI I Nyoman Suadnyana.
