Finance Minister Purbaya Rotates 1,858 Grade II-IV Officials at Finance Ministry
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa carried out a rotation of 1,858 officials within the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, 10 February 2026. This figure includes 44 senior officials.
The inauguration ceremony took place at 14:40 WIB at Menara Dhanapala in Central Jakarta. The inaugurated officials comprised grade II, III, and IV positions. This represents the third rotation of Ministry officials carried out by Purbaya throughout 2026.
In his remarks, Purbaya stated that the inauguration was not merely an administrative matter, but rather a matter of state significance.
“The position I hold is not simply a bureaucratic post. This is a position that helps determine the nation’s fiscal resilience. When fiscal policy is strong, the economy is stable. When the economy is stable, development progresses. When development progresses, public welfare increases,” he said.
“If we fail to safeguard the nation’s fiscal position, it is not only the ministry that suffers, but also the people,” he added.
He therefore urged the newly inaugurated officials to fulfil their mandate. The Finance Ministry, he noted, is a cornerstone of the state. However, Purbaya observed that many Finance Ministry employees had forgotten this fact.
“If you act carelessly, you might think your sphere of influence is limited. It is not—this affects everyone, including the integrity of the unitary state,” he said.
On 28 January 2026, Purbaya inaugurated 36 grade II officials, of whom 31 came from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC). This rotation was undertaken as part of reforms and performance improvements at the DJBC.
The following week, on 5 March 2026, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) at the Ministry of Finance carried out a major overhaul of its staff assigned as Objection Examiners and Account Representatives.
The rotation was announced in Announcement Number PENG-91/PJ/PJ.01/2026 dated 5 March 2026 and signed by Secretary of the Directorate General of Taxes Nurbaeti Munawaroh on behalf of DJP Director General Bimo Wijayanto.
The announcement pertaining to the rotation of 2,043 tax officials referenced two foundational provisions: KEP-122/PJ/PJ.01/2026 dated 5 March 2026 on the Transfer of Objection Examiners within the Directorate General of Taxes; and KEP-123/PJ/PJ.01/2026 dated 5 March 2026 on the Transfer of Account Representatives within the Directorate General of Taxes.
“Decisions of the Director General of Taxes have been issued regarding: the appointment and transfer of 215 Objection Examiners; and the appointment and transfer of 1,828 Account Representatives; to new positions and places of assignment as detailed in the attached list,” the announcement stated.
The announcement also noted that the rotation decisions shall take effect on 30 March 2026. The names of the 2,043 affected officials and their new assignments are listed in the announcement’s appendix.
