Finance Minister Purbaya Yudha Sadewa has confirmed that two echelon I officials in the Ministry of Finance, namely Febrio Kacaribu and Luky Alfirman, have been removed from their positions. Febrio previously served as Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, while Luky served as Director General of Budget.

The two echelon I positions are now filled by acting daily executors (Plh) and have been effective since Tuesday, 21 April 2026. “Acting heads have already been appointed. They became active yesterday, signed yesterday afternoon,” the Finance Minister told reporters at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy office in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

Purbaya did not provide reasons why the two director generals were dismissed from their positions. Purbaya also has not yet determined what positions Febrio and Luky will occupy in the future. “They will rest first, then we will find suitable places for them,” he said.

Previously, Purbaya had also replaced Masyita Crystallin from her position as Director General of Financial Stability and Sector Development. Masyita’s position was taken over by Herman Saheruddin as acting head (Plt).

The State Treasurer explained that the names to fill the three director general positions will be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto in May. “They will be submitted to the President at once, possibly early or mid-May,” Purbaya said.
