Finance Minister Purbaya Offers Condolences After Customs Officer Dies on Duty

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has expressed his condolences following the death of Aditya Waskita Jauhari, an officer at the Pekanbaru Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC TMP B).

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. I, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, on behalf of myself and the entire extended family of the Ministry of Finance, offer my deepest condolences on the passing of Aditya Waskita Jauhari, an officer at KPPBC TMP B Pekanbaru, Directorate General of Customs and Excise,” Purbaya said, as quoted from his Instagram account @menkeuri on Wednesday (8/7/2026).

Purbaya noted that Aditya passed away while carrying out state duties in the Tanjung Buton Industrial Area, Siak Regency. “I express the highest respect for the dedication and service of the late Aditya Waskita Jauhari. May all his faults and sins be forgiven, his good deeds accepted, his grave be widened, and may he be granted the best place by God Almighty,” he stated.

Purbaya also extended his sympathies to the bereaved family. “To the family left behind, we convey our respect, sympathy, and sincere prayers. May the family be given strength, fortitude, and sincerity in facing this loss,” he said.

The minister also expressed his appreciation to all customs and excise personnel who work on the front lines and face difficult situations. “This event reminds us that behind the work of the Ministry of Finance, there is real dedication from employees throughout Indonesia, not only at the head office, but also in regional service offices, supervisory posts, in the field, and at the forefront of state service. They face weather, distance, safety risks, terrain limitations, and even situations that are not always easy to predict,” Purbaya explained.

“To all ranks of the Ministry of Finance wherever you serve, I also express my appreciation and gratitude for your hard work, dedication, and steadfastness in carrying out the state’s mandate. I understand that many tasks are invisible to the public, many sacrifices go unheard, but all of it is very meaningful for this country. Stay strong, keep your spirits up, maintain safety, and carry out your duties as best as possible,” he concluded.
