Finance Minister Purbaya Meets Danantara CTO to Discuss Tax Contribution Potential

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa met with Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) Sigit Pudji at the Juanda Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/8/2026).

The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and Danantara, including regarding tax contributions.

Purbaya said the discussion with Sigit was held to learn about the various programmes being prepared by Danantara while also examining the scope for contributions the government could provide through the Ministry of Finance.

“This is only Danantara’s CTO, I discussed with him to see what his programmes are like and to see the possibility of whether the government or the Ministry of Finance can help. Where can we help? If he can contribute more tax. Where he contributes more tax,” Purbaya told reporters at the Juanda Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/8/2026).

According to Purbaya, the discussion lasted quite a long time. He said he exchanged views on Danantara’s programmes and the possible support the government could provide.

Purbaya did not detail the Danantara programmes discussed in the meeting. However, he emphasised that there was discussion about the relationship between government support and the potential for increased tax revenue contributions.

This meeting was one of the cross-agency discussions held by the Ministry of Finance with Danantara, particularly in examining how the investment programmes being run can contribute to the economy and state revenue.

Purbaya has also been pushing for fiscal policies that can maintain the momentum of national economic growth.

On another occasion, Purbaya said the government is still holding back the implementation of Income Tax (PPh) Article 22 on transactions through e-commerce platforms. The policy was postponed considering economic conditions and people’s purchasing power.

The government is currently targeting Indonesia’s economic growth to reach 6 percent by the end of 2026.

In the meeting, Purbaya was also asked about the possibility of discussing electric vehicle incentives.

However, he stressed that the discussion on electric vehicle incentives was not within the scope of his meeting with Danantara’s CTO.

According to Purbaya, discussions on the matter were being held by Danantara with President Prabowo Subianto.
