Finance Minister Purbaya inaugurates professional supervisory board member for INA
Investment is an instrument for economic development, thus the role of the Supervisory Board is crucial in realising prudent and credible investment governance.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa inaugurated Fauzi Ichsan as a Professional Supervisory Board Member from the professional element for the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) or Investment Management Institution (LPI).
“Investment is an instrument for economic development, thus the role of this Supervisory Board is very crucial in realising prudent and credible investment governance,” said Purbaya in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
This inauguration is part of the government’s commitment to maintaining the credibility and governance of INA as Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund.
The Finance Minister emphasised INA’s position as a national investment catalyst as well as a strategic partner in supporting Indonesia’s economic development.
This synergy can be realised through complementary collaborations in attracting investments, building portfolios, strengthening financing for priority sectors, and supporting the government’s priority agenda, particularly in realising Asta Cita.
The Finance Minister also invited the supervisory board to ensure that INA’s strategic direction remains aligned with national priorities, as well as opening up increasingly progressive investments while remaining prudent.
The inauguration and oath-taking of the supervisory board member was also attended by officials from the Ministry of Finance and the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN).
Previously, INA, along with Danantara Indonesia and Chandra Asri Group, signed a Conditional Share Subscription Agreement (CSSA) to strengthen domestic Caustic Soda and Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) production capacity and increase national supply resilience.
This agreement is a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that has been signed by the three parties, where Danantara Indonesia and INA are strategic investors in the project.
