Finance Minister Purbaya Inaugurates New Kemenkeu Secretary General Robert Leonard Marbun, Formerly at BKPM
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa inaugurated Robert Leonard Marbun as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance (Sekjen Kemenkeu). Robert replaces Heru Pambudi, who had served as Sekjen Kemenkeu for approximately five years since 2021. Robert’s appointment as a high-ranking leader in Kemenkeu is based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 24/TPA/2026. The decree was signed by President Prabowo Subianto on 16 March 2026. Finance Minister Purbaya led the oath-taking ceremony for Robert. “As the Minister of Finance, I hereby officially inaugurate you in your new position within the Ministry of Finance. I trust that you will carry out your duties to the best of your ability in accordance with the responsibilities given,” explained Purbaya at the Mezzanine Hall, Kemenkeu Building, Jakarta, on Friday (27/3/2026). Robert then expressed his willingness to take the oath of office. “That I will be loyal and obedient to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and will implement all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my devoted service to the nation and state,” stated Robert. The echelon I official of Kemenkeu also pledged to uphold the ethics of the position, work to the best of his ability, and with full responsibility. “May God help me,” explained Robert. It is known that Robert previously served as Staff Expert in Institutional Relations at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM). Robert’s appointment, along with Heru’s dismissal, is part of the reshuffle of positions within Kemenkeu since Purbaya became Minister in September 2025. Various officials within Kemenkeu and its units have been reshuffled, up to the most recent echelon II positions.
